Por Amor portrays three bi-national couples from the region of Zurich. The couples and their families have offered a glimpse of their everyday lives, their past and their world of emotions for an entire year. They tell of their very personal love stories, but also the prejudices and problems bi-national couples are confronted with. The accounts of Daeng from Thailand, Tania from Cuba and Grace from Kenya span a time period of more than 33 years of marriage and migration between Switzerland and overseas. The film not only scrutinises current clichés and wants to find out what these three women relinquished for their love to a Swiss husband, it is also a declaration of love to love itself.
