A very intimate journey about the ending of a nomadic life and the difficulties of settling in a council apartment told in first person with irony and playfulness by a young Roma director (19) struggling to accept her origins. Through the memories of her grandmother, who still lives in a temporary camp at risk of been evicted, and family photographs and video recordings made by her father, we will discover an unknown world that has seldom been opened to strangers. According to the family’s traditions, she should be married already, but she is determined to continue fighting to achieve her dreams. Me, My Gypsy Family and Woody Allen is a tale of challenging a discriminatory society and presenting a different and deeply personal insight into Roma culture.
